Amie Burns is the Managing Director of LOMA Care, a values-driven disability support provider based in the Hunter region. With over 17 years of industry experience, Amie began her career as a Disability Support Worker before moving into leadership and business ownership. In 2024, she founded LOMA Care to deliver a fresh, person-centred approach focused on independence, professionalism, and genuine connection.

Amie is a passionate advocate for education in the disability sector, believing that formal learning, lived experience, and continuous training are all essential to delivering the highest quality supports.

Since entering the NDIS space as a business owner, Amie has seen the importance of ensuring that services are built on genuine expertise, strong values, and a deep commitment to the people they support. She is passionate about challenging the culture where participants are sometimes seen through the lens of a dollar value, rather than recognised and respected as individuals. Amie believes that our most vulnerable community members deserve better — they deserve to be seen, heard, and valued for who they are.

Through her work, Amie focuses on building strong, sustainable services, mentoring future leaders, and creating environments where clients and teams alike can thrive. Community, collaboration, and continuous learning are central to her approach.

Outside of her professional life, Amie and her partner enjoy getting away in the van with friends and family, and spending time at home with their three much-loved dogs — George, Fred, and Wally.
